How to Log in to a Belkin Router admin account?

You can log in to your Belkin Router Login account to configure and monitor your router. And as a matter of fact, changing the router’s settings regularly after some time can improve the security of the router network.

You could follow the instructions in this guide to log in to your Belkin Router Login admin account-

Start the process by first connecting your device to the Belkin router network.

1.   You can connect your device with an ethernet cable or with Wifi.

  • To connect your device to the router with an Ethernet cable, connect one end of the Ethernet cable in the router’s Ethernet port and another end of the cable into the Ethernet port of your device (computer or laptop).

  • To connect your device with Wifi, first, find the router network on your device. Then after entering the password, hit connect button.

2.  After connecting your device to the router, go to the admin portal.

  • Then, login into your account after connecting your device to the router network.

  • Use either IP address 192.168.2.1 or your routers’ official admin portal website URL to login into your account.

3.  Subsequently, enter your admin username and password into the input box and log in to your account.

  • If you are a new user, you have to use the default details for your router admin login.

  • But if you are an existing user, then enter the login details accordingly.

With this, you have logged in to your account. Now you can change the admin password, network SSID, and password, etc. Also, after logging in as an admin, you can reset the whole network settings.

Some important things to note-

1.  Why should you change the default login details?

If you are a new user, consider changing your default admin and network details because sometimes default details can cause serious problems. Hackers can easily hack these details. So for better security, change these details after the first login.

2.  Difference between Network credentials and Admin credentials-

Note: The network credentials and admin credentials could be the same but have different purposes.

  • Admin credentials are necessary to login into your admin account. You can’t access your account without these details. When a user buys a router, the default admin details are given by the manufacturer. Then after logging in, the user can change these details.

  • On the other hand, the Network credentials are set for a router’s network to prevent unauthorized access to the network. The new router comes with default Network login details. After that, the admin can change the network credentials for security purposes.

3.  Resetting Belkin router-

A user can choose to reset the router in case of lost login details or forgotten password.

  • To reset your router, first find the reset button on the router. You can find this reset button on one of the side panels of the router. And it’s always labeled as Reset. After finding the button, you have to press it for 15 to 20 seconds for the complete reset. And then release it.

  • You can use a sim injector to hold the reset button. Otherwise, you can use an object like a sim injector with a pointy tip. However, avoid using use too sharp objects because they can damage the reset button.

  • When you release the reset button, the router will restart itself and apply the changes. Also, the reset process brings the router back to its default settings.
